STEAM design for the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute of Bologna focused on private practice studies and renovation of the ex-canteen for chemotherapy department, musculoskeletal tumors and day surgery services.
The new building, in particular, is designed to give adequate response to two requirements:
- Having a modern design surgeries and studies for the professional services activities of the medical directors of the hospital, covering a well-known deficiency;
- Have a “strategic” building in the event of natural disasters, in which health activities can continue and be able to transfer patients from parts of the structure become uninhabitable.
Plant solutions allow a low cost management, that is a pursuit of minimum spending levels needed for a full utilization of plant at a maximum services range, so to expect a controlled plant management by the operators in charge, but exercised so automated and according to the demands and expectations of the Institute.
